They are a dark brown or black color with a shiny body and move more slowly than the other cockroaches. They are often called the ”water bug” considering that they love dark, damp locations. These roaches are commonly found in cellars or damp mulch. The duration of incubation could be about 2 months with an average of 15 eggs hatching and; they can each live for up to 2 years.
