Self Defense Protection–Safe And Easy!

A long-time friend and I are both headed to Indianapolis to attend Butler University. When it comes to preparedness, I am a girl scout and she is an accident waiting to happen, so I took it upon myself to fuss over our self defense protection.

Midwesterners are kind, however stun baton, pepper gun or Taser were part of how our parents brought us up and taught us the importance of bringing personal security devices like those. Maybe they were protective of us since I was their only child and Beth was the only girl among their children.

I started using a lipstick pepper spray as self defense protection in junior high. I know Beth’s dad got her a cell phone stun gun after graduation. Together, we bought our first personal safety alarm with emergency flashlight at 13.

Both of our houses had surveillance protection system consisting of wireless covert cameras, glass breakage, driveway, activity-triggered entry alarms. Beth has a pool alarm while we have no need for it since our house has no pool.

This reminds me that I grew up on a child monitor alarm and computer activity tracking software. I have working parents who have valued self defense protection since the day they had to leave me with a nanny, and a nanny camera.

Because I insisted on having a door/window alarm, travel and burglar alarms and safety lights, a few weeks before leaving, we already have them. Finally, we are saying goodbye to our home’s safety and their personal safety gadgets.

Days ago, we were to shop for running shoes. I said to meet up at the car park. I was going to surprise Beth with instructional fighting DVDs in my car, probably the last bastion of self defense protection we have yet to conquer.

She presented to me some dog repellers and driver nap alarms to be used for our trip. That is my friend and she would not have tolerated three brothers if not for her intelligence.
