Precisely What I Had Been Looking For – Vertical Air Conditioner Window Unit Critique
The battery lasted a good 2 days before I have to replace them. You need to take the filter out and refill out but I find it easier to pour water directly onto the filter even with the lid on (the lid has a lot of holes to breathe). It has minimal cooling, not as quiet as one would expect. I got a $12 fan from the drug store that works just as well. I love that it has a rotating head so you can direct the breeze to cool you right on your face. It’s a nice invention for something quite simple.
To feel the cool air, you will pretty much have to position the vents towards yourself. You need to put water into the filter every 2 hours, but it will still work if you don’t – just without the cool air effect.
The filter dries out in 1-2 hours depending on the conditions you use it in. I bought 4 rechargeable batteries for this device and it has worked well for me. The eBay knockoff didn’t cost much but when the filter didn’t fit inside the unit it raised some questioning to how poorly they copied this handy cooler. After a mere 15 days, my Mini AC died on me. It just stopped working right in front of my eyes. Then there are those days that anything remotely warm will annoy me. Air conditioning is fine, but I seem to need something more isolated, and something I’m not going to use when I feel better.
It is completely contained. I love that feature. I sent it back and ordered another. She received a filthy one that looked used so I had to return that one again for her.
I found this fan not to be any better than a regular portable fan that can be bought for less than half the price of this one, plus the shipping charges were excessive in my opinion. The only plus about this fan is that it comes with a USB connection so it can be used while you’re on your laptop. Otherwise there is no real breeze. At the highest setting it is also very loud with a high pitch whine.
If this product has cost $20 buck we probably would have kept it but it was definitely not worth $50. My husband’s been complaining about the heat for a while and I bought this to hopefully cool him down. Price was right, and it does the job! This little thing is powerful and easy to carry around. To back that up, every other fan I am familiar with has pre-set speed settings. My daughter has had three open heart surgeries and two strokes. You can carry it around with you but when you wish to do things like cook in the kitchen or work on the computer, you can set it on a table in front of you and it will cool not only yourself but the air around you without the device falling all over the place. When the weather becomes REALLY hot (I am talking about 90+ degrees) I agree that this product will get replaced by the air-con that can cool the rest of the family and the house as well, however this product is fantastic as a self-cooler.
