The insects known as bedbugs come from a family of insects called cimicidae. The insects live off the blood of humans and other warm blooded creatures. The normal hiding ground for the insects is in bedding and mattresses and they normally emerge for their feed when it gets dark. Humans that have been bitten usually show signs after a few days when their skin becomes red and itchy.
Bed bugs are wingless insects that feed on blood. There are various ways they can introduce themselves into your home. If you recently moved and brought with you second hand furniture or if you moved into an apartment and the prior residents had a problem with them or adjacent apartments are currently having a problem with them. The best way to get rid of them is to call a professional; however, you can protect yourself from them by using bed bug covers until the pest company can come out to kill them.
The parasitic insect commonly known as the bed bug is a tiny parasite, barely visible to the eye. This bloodsucking creature is called a bed bug because its preferred habitat is the nests, burrows and beds of its exclusive food source: warm blooded animals like you and me.
