Am I The Only Unlucky One Right Here – Tent Air Conditioner Review
It did not work any better than a small battery powered foam fan and cost five times as much. I live in a medium humidity area (San Francisco Bay Area) so it may work better in a low humidity location. After using it on and off for about two weeks it started rattling which is very annoying. When used outside it just doesn’t produce enough air to make much difference.
This (Handy Cooler Portable Air Conditioner) is like my new holy grail. It works so wonderfully and people keep asking me what it is and where I got it. This handy cooler is small enough to put in my carrying case. It’s around the size of a large Starbucks coffee cup. I have to put my face right on it to feel a little bit of cool air. Afterword I placed the filter inside the fridge to see if that helped but I didn’t see much of an improvement.
Slower delivery than I expected. In warm conditions, this works fine.
It’s easy to carry around and as much fun as it using for a good 4 hours. It gives me a chance to stay cool in the Floridian heat. I wish I could have given it zero stars, but the review system would not let you. As a beauty therapist, I know how important it is to look after your skin and how much damage a fan or an a/c can do. I had to get this when it was backordered 3 weeks but it was worth the wait. When you turn it on, it has a low humming sound which is a nice white noise and it does a good job of cooling the air. I was unsure of how it worked before I bought this, until I played around with it, I realize it’s basically a turbine fan that filters air through a wet filter and for some reason the air comes out is cold. It doesn’t cool more than 30 degrees but that is enough for me.
I retracted my review on the first fan. I got the replacement fan.
We’ve had this for nearly 1.5 years already and it is almost constantly on when I work on the computer during the summer. Other than needing to buy some new filters last week, this is still working like new. It cools the air probably 10-15 degrees. I wish it could cool better, but a swamp cooler is simply limited to the humidity of the day, just like any other swamp cooler. Very nice fan, but it doesn’t come from Amazon and the Handy Cooler folks really charge a lot for shipping! (They also tried to charge me almost 5 bucks “sales tax” before they even knew where I lived!) This is a great product! I live in the heat of Arizona so we are always in search of personal cooling products. Misty mate has always been amongst our top choices but the technology is old and I hate spraying my face with water all the time.
